Line Sabroe
A small round shiny beetle with green, blue, purple, rust brown or bronze colours. Lots of variation in colour but always metallic and only one colour on any one individual. Feeds on leaves, larvae develop in one month so each season can produce multiple generations. ⇔ l. 8-10 mm syn. CHRYSOMELA VARIANS LA: ≈ The CHRYSOLINA STAPHYLAEA (Brown mint leaf beetle) has no metallic shine. ≈ And the AGELASTICA ALNI (Alder leaf beetle) is more oval shaped and always blue. ≈ The CHRYSOLINA FASTUOSA (Dead-nettle leaf beetle) is always multicoloured.
