Yellow beetle with black markings and black legs, the shield has short hairs. The yellow can be pale, almost white and the black lines can be intermittent. Likes warmth, often seen sunbathing on flowers, feeds on pollen. Larvae eat wood and stems. ⇔ l. 8-14 mm LA: ≈ The colours are reversed when compared to the CLYTUS ARIETIS (Wasp beetle) which is also a little larger. ≈ The RUTPELA MACULATA (Spotted longhorn) is larger as well with yellow only on the main shield.
