Long brown bug with a leather-like shield with shoulder dots on the neck shield. The antennae are orange-red with a black tip. The wings are orange-red but only visible in flight. Larvae resemble the adults, a bit smaller and no wings. Prefers acid plants like dock or rhubarb. ⇔ l. 14-16 mm
