Large cricket, colour can vary from green to yellow or brown, with almost always dark markings. The ♀ wings are almost as long as the body, the ovipositor (to lay eggs) is brownish and curved slightly upwards. The ♂ has wings a little longer than its body, 2 small cerci (little tail end extensions).

Not a good jumper or flyer, crawls around bushes, well camouflaged and very still if necessary. In the past the powerful jaws were used to bite into warts, the stomach acid would close warts.
