Small brown-black water skater with small marked wings and 2 short front legs right next to the head and 4 long legs. The 4 long legs enable it to glide along the water surface. The two front legs are used to catch prey. Hunts insects fallen into the water and insect larvae close to the water surface. ⇔ l. 10-12 mm syn. Water strider, Jesus bugs
