Brown green beetle, with red-brown back shield with small vertical dents and some hair. The neck shield and head are black with a green shine and the antennae have 3 fans at the end. The black legs are equipped with barbs. Flies mostly just above the ground, living off plants while the larvae feed on plant roots. ⇔ l. 8-12 mm LA: ≈ Has several larger lookalikes like the MELOLONTHA MELOLONTHA (Cockchafer), AMPHIMALLON SOLSTITIALE (Summer chafer) due to the hairs and fans but is much smaller.
