Yellow black hairy beetle, the yellow shield has a black edge and black markings, lots of variation. The breast is more brown and thick haired. The legs and antennae with little fans are black. Often active on sunny days on open fields and forest edges. Feeds on parts of flowers and plants. Larvae eat rotting wood and develop in 2 years time. ⇔ l. 10-14 mm LA: The TRICHIUS ZONATUS looks very similar and can only to be distinguished under the microscope. No photo available.
