A grey-black marked moth. On the front wings some brown with white markings. The rear wings of the ♂ have a white base with a wide brown black edge and a white fringe at the end. The ♀ is a light grey instead of white. Often found near bindweed like Convolvulus on roadsides or along fields. ⇔ wsp. 33-35 mm syn. Eastern alchymist, Sweet potato leaf worm
