Thin brown front wing with a distinctive ragged rear edge, green brown to pinkish marked. The rear wings are brown pinkish. The butterfly does not feed and only lives a few days. The long caterpillar is green with yellow and purple-pink markings with a distinctive blue arrow-shaped marking at the end. Just before pupating it becomes more red coloured. ⇔ wsp. 55-75 mm
