Smooth grey pink hairless worm, the pointy end is its head. The body is ringed with a smooth area almost in the centre where the reproductive organs are located. Lives below surface digging long tunnels. When wet, and at night they surface. They feed on dead plant materials. ⇔ l. 100-250 mm syn. Lob worm, Dew worm The tunnels they dig aerate the soil to the advantage of plants. They have lots of enemies: birds trample them to the surface, Hedgehogs find them below the surface and they are used as bait by fishermen.
