Brown-grey goose with a dark head and wings, a white rump and light grey breast. The orange beak has a black tip and can have a black base of variable width, sometimes only the tip is black and there is a thin white edge at the base. The ♀ is breeding while the ♂ is guarding, outside breeding season, groups are formed with other species of geese. ⇔ l. 70-90 cm A migratory bird breeding in Scandinavia all the way up to the Bering Sea and wintering in central Europe. The ANSER FABALIS SERRIROSTRIS (Tundra bean goose) can be differentiated from the ANSER FABALIS FABALIS (Taiga bean goose) by their respective breeding areas and the last one has a larger black marking on the beak. LA: ≈ The ANSER ANSER (Greylag goose) has a completely orange beak and the head is lighter in colour. ≈ The ANSER ALBIFRONS (White-fronted goose) has a large white marking surrounding the beak base.
