Small beige gecko with a brown marked back and brown yellow banded tail. The skin seems translucent and pinkish. A prickly crest on its back. The toes are wide with sucker toes and the pupils are vertical. Prefers shrubbery but also seen on bricks and walls. Active at twilight living on insects. ⇔ l. 12-16 cm, including the tail. It can be found in the Canary Islands. LA: ≈ De TARENTOLA MAURITANICA (Moorish wall gecko) is darker coloured with a wider, flatter body.
