Top surface orange with a pattern of black markings, closer to the body more greenish like the body itself. Underside has large pearlescent markings surrounded by orange-red. Wings are square shaped. ⇔ wsp. 35-45 mm LA: ≈ The upper surface is similar to the ARGYNNIS AGLAJA (Dark green fritillary), however, the underside is distinctly different.
