A slender wasp with a thickened rear body and sturdy antennae. On its legs small white markings. The ♀ has an ovipositor (to lay eggs) as long as her body. ⇔ l. 5-9 mm, excluding ovipositor. This family is extremely large and has in common that all members lay eggs on or with larvae of other insects, which are subsequently eaten by the larvae.
